There are places I am naturally drawn to, that are hard to explain. I feel something familiar, a sense of comfort, as if I have a memory from before. I love these kinds of places, and I have tried to create them, many times. Sometimes, it comes with decorating a room or fixing up an old house, planting a garden, or even a walk in the woods.
At this moment in my life, I particularly enjoy an old fashion bookstore, an early morning church service, in an old sanctuary, where the silence feels golden and the music is mellow and kind. But at the end of the day, there’s no place like home and I am drawn to the kitchen like no other room in the house. It always feels warm and inviting.
The recipe I’d like to share with you is a feel good kind of affair which you can re-create in your kitchen by slow cooking a crock pot of Hot Cinnamon Apple Pie Oatmeal, which is actually hot oatmeal in the morning, but prepared before you go to bed at night.
It’s one of those wintery, feel good, kind of recipes, that provide a sense of home and place.
With love and lots of warm holiday wishes,
